Frequently Asked Questions for The Red Brick Wall
Why RBW and not the "official" alumnae association?
Good question! You can be a member of both associations if you choose. It's not an either/or situation. This association is accepting of all points of view. We have created a place for alumnae to be able to connect with each other and remain active as alumnae in a positive atmosphere. We want to be able to positively echo the ideas and concerns of our membership in an independent forum.
Where can I get an RBW t-shirt?
We’re glad you asked! Please visit our CafĂ© Press store to shop to your heart’s content! We hope to expand our store in the future. Let us know if there are other items you would like to see available!
Will I still get an Alumnae Bulletin?
Your membership in The Red Brick Wall will not have any effect on your membership in the school’s alumnae association and privileges you may hold as a result.
How will RBW keep us connected?
The website will be our primary means of keeping everyone connected in the beginning. We will also have mailings, an official publication and online class notes. We hope to offer two opportunities each year for alumnae to get together: Annual Meeting and Reunion. We also hope to have events hosted by alumnae around the country.
Will you have affinity groups or opportunities for networking and career support?
These are areas that we would like to cultivate, but they will require your help through volunteer support. If you have a special interest in this area, please send us your ideas to volunteer@theredbrickwall.com!
Can I belong to the school’s alumnae association too?
Absolutely! We believe that the official alumnae association and The Red Brick Wall serve different purposes. There’s no reason you can’t belong to both organizations!
Is The Red Brick Wall associated with any other organized group?
No. We are an independent association, unrelated to any other organized groups or associations.
Are you planning reunions?
Yes! We will need everyone’s assistance to make it a success. If you would like to help organize our first Reunion, please send us an email at board@theredbrickwall.com.
Can I go to my class reunion on campus and still participate in the reunions RBW plans?
Absolutely!
Where will you hold Annual Meetings and Reunion?
Good question! We have not decided where we will hold the first Annual Meeting or Reunion yet, but we do know that neither will be held on campus. We ask for your input and suggestions as to where we should hold these events. There are endless possibilities that we can explore together as an association.
Will you have a publication?
Definitely! We know how important Class Notes and pictures are to you because they are important to all of us. Plus, that's one of the most important ways to keep alumnae connected to each other, and we realize it. The publication will not be big and flashy in the beginning, but it will contain all of the essential elements demanded and expected by alumnae. It is our intention that the publication will evolve over time into a high caliber magazine. If you’d like to help start a regular alumnae publication, please contact us at volunteer@theredbrickwall.com.
How can I find other alums in my city or town?
In the near future, we will have an online database that will enable you to search for alumnae in your area. In the meantime, please contact board@theredbrickwall.com
